Kalin Serapionov (born in 1967) is an artist from Sofia. He works with video and his interest is focused on the ability of this medium to produce suspense without "collapsing" into narrative conventions. He perceives video as a moving image, correlations, rhythm and light. The relationship of the videoinstallations with space, the process of turning an image into meaning and the effect of visual impact. His projects are about context, time, locations, circumstances, memory, places and their significance. He looks into various human relations, communities, characters, habits, behavior and interconnections, as well as the modern city and way of life. His works is striving to create powerful, high-impact vision that simultaneously make use of the achievements of modern society, but also subject the clichés that they create to critical treatment.
